Exciting Update!
Looking back and looking forward
The DTS just completed its eighth week of lecture phase! It has been a crazy busy two months. The students have grown so much already. During this time, we received teachings on the character and nature of God, hearing God’s voice, the Holy Spirit and spiritual warfare, a biblical overview, relationships and identity, and Jesus. We also went to the YWAM Amsterdam base for a week to take inlectures on evangelism and then to immediately put it into practice. The students got to evangelize and worship in the centre of Amsterdam, including the Dam Square, and even in the Red-light district. I saw the students gain God’s heart for the lost and learn how to share His love with them.
Outreach Update!
A DTS consists of two phases: lecture phase and outreach phase. And in three and a half weeks we leave for our outreach! Our school will be going to two separate locations. One team will be going to Indonesia and the other will be going to the Philippines. My team will be going to the Philippines! In the upcoming weeks I will, together with my co-worker Maryse, be planning specific locations and ministry opportunities. We fly out December 7th. As staff we are required to support ourselves and thisincludes our outreach fees. Thankfully, due to the generosity of many people, I have almost everything I need. God is faithful!!
Personal Update
Something that God has been challenging me in lately is being open and honest about this time of transition. I would like to preface this by saying I am so glad that God has called me to Heidebeek. When I am talking with students, sitting in class and being busy with my practical tasks, I feel so satisfied and purposeful. It is really an honour to be able to work here. But the reality of leaving home, family and friends is that I often feel a sense of loss or instability. However, I am building community here, especially in my new home. I try to find joy in the little things such as buying a candle for the house or playing music in the living room. Small things to make this new place feel like home. I see God’s faithfulness in the community that He is providing in my housemates.
Prayer Points
