Life is Good!
Processing the future
Hello Everyone! I have so many exciting things to share with you all!
This summer I took a much-needed vacation and went home for 5 weeks. I didn’t realise how tired I was until I was at my parents’house, surrounded by a comfortable and familiar environment. You read in previous newsletters that I really struggled with homesickness this past year, which was very draining. So to be home again, among my mountains was a much needed refresher. I am so grateful to have been able to be present for my little sister's graduation, my parents 'anniversary, Canada day and my dad’sbirthday. It was also such a blessing to be able to preach at my home church and lead worship. If you would like to watch that preaching, you can find it at this link: EHCC Preaching ,starting at the 27 minute mark.
Thank you also to all who attended our "Celebrating 1 yYar in Missions" BBQ! It was amazing to be able to re-connect with some of you and share what God has been doing in all our lives this past year. I was also able to share a bit about what this upcoming season will look like.
I will be staffing the September DTS while leading the music track. We have an amazing staff team of 7 people and already have 18 students accepted. On August 20 we started with staff training and the school will officially start on September 18.
Along with staffing the DTS, I will be joining the Leadership Team of the Heidebeek base. This is a team that supports our two base leaders while also leading the base of around 100 missionaries. It was such an honour to be asked, and I am excited to be able to serve my base in this way. It is a four year commitment, and the video below shares a bit about how God has been calling me more into full-time, long-term missions. During this initial season, I will have few responsibilities, other than joining the Thursday meetings. However, after the DTS, it will become more clearly determined what my role in the LT will be.
If you click this link for my Video Testimony , you can hear a bit more explanation about what God has been speaking about my future in missions.
Last, but definitely not least, while in Canada, my lovely Dutch boyfriend proposed to me! And I, of course, said yes. I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with this amazing person. Stephan also really has a heart for worship and teaching and it’samazing how God has brought us together, not only to enter into marriage but also into full-time missions together.
It’s a lot of changes again, and your prayers and support are greatly appreciated. As Stephan and I look into the future and start planning our wedding there are a few things we need provision for. At the moment it looks like we will need to find housing off base, which requires us to fundraise a bit more per month and to purchase a car. If you would consider giving or know of anyone in the area of Epeor Heerde that might have some housing available for us, I'd love to hear from you. If you are interested in giving a one-time donation, please see below for payment information. If you are considering supporting us monthly, feel free to email me for more information.
Prayer Points
• Provision for housing
• Provision for a car
• That all our students will get the provision and visas they need toattend the DTS
• Transition into my new role in the Leadership Team
